About Us

Boy Scout Troop 246 is proud to be sponsored by the St. Gabriel & John Vianney Knights of Columbus Council. We are a member of the Pikes Peak Council and the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree District. The Troop was founded in 1986 and serves the Briargate area of Colorado Springs, Colorado. We currently have a troop of 40+ scouts and 25+ adult leaders.

Each year since it's founding, the troop has earned the National Quality Unit Award from the Boy Scouts of America. To date, more than 60 young men have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Though Troop 246 is proud to be sponsored by the St Gabriel & John Vianney Knights of Columbus Council, we welcome all young men with a desire to challenge themselves in a "fun-based" environment.

The troop regular weekly meetings occur every Tuesday night from 7:00 - 8:15 PM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 8755 Scarborough Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80920. The Scouts develop and execute their own program with parent support and participation. The Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) consists of the members of the Senior Patrol (the older and more experienced scouts) and the Patrol Leaders from each patrol. This group meets monthly (usually on the last Tuesday of the month) with the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters to plan troop meetings and activities. The troop has a year-round program, with an outing typically planned for every month of the year. We participate in the annual district Camporees as well as the triennial National Scout Jamboree. We have also planned high adventure camps in Minnesota and Canada at Northern Tier (camping, canoeing) and Philmont in New Mexico (backpacking), as well as Florida Sea Base in the Florida Keys (boating, snorkeling, scuba, etc.). We also participate in the annual summer program at Camp Alexander in Lake George, run by the Pikes Peak Council. Summer camp is a great place to work on rank advancement, merit badges, and have fun while doing it.

Visitors always welcome!
